Jarvis Bike Lanes

A sad day for cycling in our city. As Mike Layton (Ward 19, Trinity-Spadina) told fellow councillors who voted to remove the Jarvis Bike Lanes: “Every time someone gets hit to the concrete from a door, or breaks a leg or an arm as they get cut off, you’ll be the ones to blame. Every time someone dies as a result of a bike accident on Jarvis, you’ll need to explain to those families why it was so necessary for us to remove these lanes.” (from The Star, October 4).

Community Meeting on Jarvis Bike Lanes

Councillor Kristyn Wong-Tam wants to hear from the community about the future of Jarvis Street.

If you are a cyclist, this is your chance to defend our bike lanes. We need to let the Councillor know that ANY future design for Jarvis Street should preserve dedicated lanes for cyclists.

If you support keeping the bike lanes, join us at the meeting wearing your helmet!! Let’s make sure people know why we are there!
